Former Knoxville Baseball Player Trenton Kingery is playing at the next level at Simpson College. The former Panther did not see game action last season as a freshman, but as a sophomore has become an integral part of the team and is batting in the middle of the order and his stats back it up. His coach, Nathan Roling, tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Kingery has made a big jump from the player and person he was last year.

Roling: “If you would have asked me at this time last year if he would be in the middle of the order I would have doubted that, but credit to Trenton for becoming the player on and off the field and it’s just a testament of the hard work he has put in.”

Kingery has 15 hits this season with seven doubles and a home run in 13 games. Kingery is batting .429 with a slugging percentage of .714. He also has been very good in the field with a .938 fielding percentage. At Knoxville Kingery was made 2nd team all-state, was a three time all-conference and two-time all district. Simpson travels to Luther for a three game series this weekend.
