Recently, Melcher-Dallas Schools announced the creation of an Athletic Hall of Fame. This is to honor past athletes, teams, coaches, administrators, and even patrons who have contributed to the history of Melcher-Dallas Athletics. Athletic Director Jim Crozier tells KNIA Sports it has been talked about for several years, but after the new gym and addition to the high school was completed, they decided now is the time.

Crozier: “We’ve been talking about it off and on for years, and Mr. Brides really pushed for this and now we’re going to put our foot down and do it.”

A hall of fame committee has been formed and nominations will be taken later this spring with the inaugural class to be announced later in the summer and induction day will be at a yet to be determined home basketball game in January. A player nominee must be a graduate of Melcher-Dallas High School and out of school at least four years, and received all-conference and/or all-state in their sport. Coach and administrator nominees must have been in their roles for a minimum of ten years and nominees can only be submitted when they have left their positions. Listen for a full interview with Crozier on an upcoming Today’s Lely Radio Sports Page on KNIA.
