Making several stops in Iowa on Monday, United States Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins was joined by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, State Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig to tour Beck’s Hybrids in Colfax.

Beck’s Hybrids is a soybean producer that was founded in Atlanta, Indiana in 1937, and opened their facility in Colfax in 2016. During the stop in Jasper County, Secretary Rollins and the State of Iowa officials were shown around the facility, before meeting with Beck’s Hybrids employees and members of the Iowa Soybean Association for a roundtable discussion. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig said he was grateful that Secretary Rollins was able to visit with local farmers and producers on Monday.

“There’s no substitute for getting out and getting on the ground and seeing folks face to face and we appreciate that. So, we appreciate the focus that she is bringing at the USDA to some really important topics like animal disease unfortunately, but we’re grateful to get her in the state and hopefully she’ll be a frequent guest.”
