On March 26th at approximately 7:30 pm, Marion County officials were notified of the partial collapse of the Dollar Bridge, also known as the Harvey Bridge, which is located just southeast of the T17 Des Moines River bridge on 216th Pl. Although the bridge has been closed to vehicular traffic for many years, county officials immediately closed the structure to pedestrian traffic upon arrival. The bridge remains closed to all public access, and appropriate signage has been placed to inform the public of the hazard. Marion County officials direct the public to stay off and away from the bridge. This directive includes staying out from under all spans of the bridge due to hazards that are present, including off the adjacent boat ramp.
