The Pella Christian track and field teams will attempt to start the outdoor portion of the schedules tonight after the cancellation of their meets on Tuesday, while the boys soccer squad is also slated to begin their spring this evening on the road.

The Eagles track and field squads last competed three weeks ago in their lone indoor event of the year, where the girls took second place and boys finished 31st at the IATC Indoor Championships in Ames. Following the cancellations Tuesday, the Pella Christian girls will now open the outdoor season at the 17-team DeWitt Invitational hosted by Clarke tonight, while the boys will run in the eight-team Ballard Coed Invite.

Meanwhile, the Pella Christian boys soccer team will kick-off their spring tonight by making the short trip down Highway 163 to take on PCM. The Mustangs have already played two matches this week to get their season under way, falling 7-0 to Des Moines Christian on Monday night before defeating Sigourney-Keota Tuesday night 3-1. Tonight’s meeting between the Eagles and PCM is the 14th since 2011, with the Eagles holding a 10-3 advantage in the previous 13 matchups. Pella Christian enters this evening with a four game winning streak in the series, including winning last season’s contest on Eagle Lane 4-0, while the Mustangs’ most recent victory in the series was a 2-1 win in 2019.

The Pella Christian track and field meets tonight are scheduled to start at 4:30 pm, with the Eagles soccer game at PCM slated to begin an hour later at 5:30 pm.
