Simpson College is hosting a not-so-silent film experience tomorrow, featuring live music played alongside the silent film The Ancient Law. Simpson Professor John Benoit tells KNIA News The Ancient Law is a film from 1923 that is a generational conflict of a man growing up in a Jewish village who wants to become an actor, while his father wants him to become a Rabbi and the issues between them.

Professor Benoit says the Simpson Music Department played music alongside an earlier silent film, The Phantom of the Opera, which received positive feedback from attendees.

The music will be played tomorrow by guest artists Alicia Svigals and Donald Sosin, with the performance in Lekberg Hall in the Amy Robertson Music Center on the Simpson College campus. The film begins at 7pm.
