The Pella Christian tennis and girls soccer teams are slated to be in action on Monday.
The Eagles boys tennis squad will host Grinnell in their home opener on Eagle Lane, while the girls team will compete on the road for the first time this spring at Grinnell. The Pella Christian boys will look to start the spring 2-0 after a quick 7-0 sweep over Centerville last Monday, and will do so against a Tigers squad that lost 9-2 against Newton in their season opener on Thursday. The Eagle girls are coming off a 10-0 sweep against Centerville a week ago, and are also looking to move to 2-0 on the spring against a Grinnell team that took second at the Mount Vernon Round Robin Tournament on Thursday.
Competing on the road at Knoxville on Monday, the Pella Christian girls soccer team will look to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2019. After opening their season with a 2-0 win over Ottumwa on Tuesday, the Eagle girls picked up their second win with a 2-1 victory over Albia on Friday. The Knoxville girls enter Monday’s match with an 0-3 record on the spring, falling in home games against Indianola and Oskaloosa and a road match at Carlisle last week.
Pella Christian’s tennis matches against Grinnell Monday are scheduled to begin at 4:15 pm, while the Eagles’ girls soccer game against Knoxville is set to start at 5:30 pm.
