Central College sophomore Jack Brown was named the American Rivers Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Competing at the Wartburg Outdoor Select Saturday in Waverly in cold, blustery conditions, Brown raced to first place in the 1500 meter run. The event had 86 entrants, which included multiple NCAA Division I and II athletes. He finished in 3:56.51 seconds in his first outdoor performance of the spring, just over 3 seconds above his career-best time of 3:53.28 established last May. Brown is coming off a seventh-place showing in the mile at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships March 14th-15th in Rochester, New York.

The Dutch compete Friday at the Jim Duncan Invitational at Drake University in Des Moines.
