Marion County Public Health held their monthly providers meeting on Monday.
The meeting provides healthcare and community organizations an opportunity to inform the public of updates within their respective organizations. There is a presenter at each meeting, and on Monday, the presenter was Cassi Clyde with Drake University Head Start. Drake University Head Start, including Early Head Start, is the largest Head Start grantee in the state of Iowa and one of only a few university-based Head Start programs in the nation. Drake Head Start has offerings here in Marion County and Clyde said it sticks out from other preschool programs.
“A lot of the programs coming through the schools are Universal Preschool Programming which some implement social services or other supports, but others may not, depending on the county or the school district. A lot of the difference comes from the wrap around services for families.”
The Marion County Providers Meeting is held the first Monday of every month
