
While it took two very different paths to get there, the Pella tennis teams opened the spring season with wins over Ballard.
The defending champion girls dominated the Bombers 11-0. Pella swept the field in impressive fashion, with two set-one tiebreakers in singles and two matches that went to a third set.
Pella’s boys narrowly defeated Ballard in the full format 6-5, but fell in the state scoring structure 5-4. Three matches went to tiebreakers.
The Dutch girls are back in action today against DCG in Pella; the boys are off until they travel to Norwalk Thursday. Also in action today, the Pella soccer teams split sites with Oskaloosa — the girls head to the Lacey Sports Complex at 5:30 this evening and the boys are at home at 7 p.m.
