The Simpson College Speech and Debate Team placed third in the Overall Sweepstakes at the 45-team Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament last week hosted by Ohio University.
The Storm claimed second in the Debate Sweepstakes as a team, and featured a pair of individual national runner-up honors: Garrett Bond in Novice IPDA Debate and Sydni Powell in Congressional Debate. Bond was also a national runner-up in To Honor, a specialty event at PKD this year that focused on how the legacy of organized college forensic activity can be improved in the future.
