United Way of Jasper County wraps up their second annual spring speaker series of “Voices of Inspiration” tonight with Mary Anne Owen. Owen is the daughter of actress Donna Reed and producer Tony Owen. United Way of Jasper County Executive Director Jessica Lowe Vokes says Owen will talk about her work with the Donna Reed Foundation headquartered in her mother’s hometown of Denison, Iowa.

“She is going to talk about her mom and dad and their legacy, and work in Hollywood and the Donna Reed Foundation and their work promoting the arts and culture in rural Iowa.”

The “Voices of Inspiration” speakers are meant to inspire, motivate, and inform Jasper County residents according to Vokes. Their presentations are free to the public. Doors to the DMACC Auditorium on the Newton Campus will open at 6:00 pm tonight for first come first serve seating. Owen is scheduled to begin speaking at 6:30 pm. Free-will donations will also be accepted to help continue the speaker series.
