On Friday, the Knoxville Police Department in partnership with Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement (MINE) Drug Task Force and Health and Human Services (HHS) Bureau of Cannabis Regulation made visits to multiple locations in Knoxville where consumable cannabis products are sold.

As a result of these visits, inventory was seized from two locations. No criminal charges are pending at this time, however, administrative actions from HHS may follow.

In a press release from the department it states “The Knoxville Police Department and our partners are committed to ensuring cannabis licensed retailers in Knoxville are adhering to Iowa’s current cannabis laws. These laws and administrative rules are updated frequently to safeguard citizens and visitors of our state. Like tobacco and alcohol products, Iowa cannabis products should only be sold to persons over the age of 21.”
