Pella Girls Tennis Defeats Norwalk in Home Conference Opener
The Pella girls tennis team defended its home court in a close matchup with Norwalk on Thursday, winning 7-4. Pella won five of the six singles matches, including wins from Claire Smock, Abby Hietbrink, Sydney Namminga, Reagan DeJong, and Addison Van Wyk. The team is next in action on Monday at Boone (find full results below).



Pella Boys Tennis Team Falls to Warriors
For the first time in several years, the Pella boys tennis team fell in a Little Hawkeye Conference match, dropping a 7-4 contest on the road in Norwalk. Nile Rozenboom, Brayden Van Horn, and Trevin Sutton had singles wins for the Dutch. The Dutch head to Brynes Park in Waterloo this Saturday for a triangular.



Dutch Boys Golf Team Places 2nd at Home Invitational
The Pella boys golf team navigated a strong field at Bos Landen Golf Course, placing 2nd at its home invitational. Kyler Besick came in at the team’s and meet’s best score of 73, and Cole Floden (86), Patrick Bishara (87), and Gabe Clark (88) rounded out the scorecard for the Dutch. Several recent state qualifiers were in the field, including Knoxville, Gilbert, Solon, and Pella Christian — who won the event. The Dutch return to action Tuesday at Oskaloosa.

Pella Girls Dominate in Osky Relays, Winning Meet
The Pella girls track and field team showcased its depth in a meet victory in Oskaloosa. Even as the team was resting to get Drake Relays events prepared for this Saturday’s Jim Duncan Invitational, several athletes turned in strong performances, according to Head Coach Dak Rasmussen.

“We had numerous younger runners like Erica Vos and Bryn Paulsen step up to contribute in a big way. Kelsey Tauke and Haylie DeVries had season best performances in the Long Jump. Mara Schiebout had outstanding performances in the 200m and 400m while Carleigh Altwine and Raegan Snieder had an awesome duel in the 1500m. Kyla Barnes ran the 400m hurdles for the first time tonight and went sub 1:10.”

Sprint Medley Relay – Melvin, Rankin, Treur, Barnes (1:57.68)
4×200 Relay – Melvin, DeVries, Parks, Parks (1:51.02)
4×400 Relay – Punt, Paulsen, Settles, Vos (4:19.8)

Pella Boys Track and Field Team Places 3rd at Osky Relays
The Pella boys track and field team placed 3rd in Oskaloosa. On a night where Drake Relays Blue Standard Qualifier Canaan Dunham was out of the lineup and other key athletes ran in one or two events, the Dutch put together several strong finishes, including a sweep of the throwing events by Reagan Anderson in discus (134-04) and Palmer Hemming in the shot put (45-1). Pella joins the girls at the Jim Duncan Invitational this Saturday at Drake Stadium. Find full results here.

Pella Girls Soccer Team Falls in Ranked Showdown in Bondurant
The #5 in 2A Pella girls soccer team fell behind early and couldn’t recover, falling to #14 in 2A Bondurant-Farrar on the road in a 3-1 matchup. Bri Shannon scored the lone goal for the Dutch in the second half. Pella falls to 2-3 overall and returns home against Gilbert on Thursday.

Pella Girls Golfers

The Pella girls golf team placed 5th at the Newton Cardinals Invitational on Thursday. Harper Phillips and McKenzie Johnston both shot a 47 to led the Dutch, with Moriah Reynolds (51) and Carlyn Henry (52) rounding out the score. Pella is in action again Tuesday at DCG.
