Eight Norwalk Community High School seniors signed letters of intent on Wednesday to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.

The list includes three Warrior football players. Kolton Borcherding-Johnson will play football at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Carter Eden will join the program at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids and Hunter Newberg will play for Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. Konner Holtorf, meanwhile, will play baseball at Marshalltown Community College.

Four senior girls also signed letters of intent. Grace Linder will play basketball at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Brooklyn Radke will play softball for Grand View University in Des Moines, Carmen Gizzi will compete for the University of Northern Iowa rugby team and Ella Nielsen will join the Dance team at DMACC.

Thursday’s Schedule

Norwalk will have four spring sports teams in action today, including a pair of track meets. The Warrior girls will compete in the nine-team Ron Werling Relays in Indianola. The Norwalk boys will be one of 16 teams in the Waukee Invite. Both meets start at 4:00 p.m. Tonight marks the deadline to post improved times and marks to qualify for next week’s Drake Relays.

The Norwalk girls tennis team travels to Huxley for a 4:15 dual against Ballard and the Class 2A fifth-ranked Warrior soccer girls host Southeast Polk at 5:00 p.m.
