Girls Coach Michael Splavec says this is a chance to show off a first class facility.

Splavec: “being able to see that facility and knowing that Knoxville is just not putting efforts into sports but the whole student for their experience.”

Boys Coach Eric Kellar says while they want to win the meet…it is great to have a facility they can be proud of and to show it off to other schools.

Kellar: “Kids coming in and seeing everything, and remembering it like this before, and seeing the video board, concession stand it’s awesome to be here.”

Both coaches also expect to see more individuals from other schools since tonight is the cut off to get athletes into next week’s Drake Relays. One thing fans will be greeted by is the newly constructed archway that is at the main entrance gate. Meanwhile on the other side of the Knoxville Schools at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts, the boys tennis squads will host Clarke, while the girls, who are unbeaten to start the season in duel and tournament meets will hit the road to face Clarke. The girls golf squad was scheduled to head to Moravia, but according to the Knoxville online schedule, that event has been cancelled.
