The Pella Christian boys golf team began the two-day Dutch Masters event with a steady showing at Bos Landen Golf Club on Friday. 

The Eagles ended the first day of the 18-team-event in 4th place, after shooting a 317 and wrapping up the round just three strokes behind Pella and Solon, who share the lead. The Eagles were led by Deacon Branderhorst, who finished the opening day in a tie for 8th with a 77, while Eliot Menninga finished a stroke back with a 78 to sit in a tie for 13th place. Following that senior duo were fellow seniors Cooper Spronk and Landon Fransman, who each shot an 81 to tie for 19th place in the first round. Connor VanZee and Carter Brand rounded out the Eagles squad, shooting an 88 and 90, respectively.  

Day two of the Dutch Masters at Bos Landen Golf club begins this morning at 8:30 am.
