The Knoxville Police Department is making citizens aware of a new text scam.

This scam is a text that comes in which alerts someone that a recent charge was made for a certain amount at an Apple Store via Apple Pay. The scam also provides a contact support number to call. The department encourages everyone to not fall for the scam or call the number and to educate elderly relatives and children about potential scammers and the dangers involved.
