The Marion County Courthouse will be closed on May 16th. The closure will be a result of the back-up generator project and the installation of the new generator. County Facilities Director Chris Nesteby says this will be a full day closure in which his team will pull out the current cabinet, set the transfer switch, get the wiring in place, pull out the old generator, and put the new generator in place. Nesteby says this will now allow the entire courthouse to be on one back up generator instead of just pockets of the courthouse. The county encourages citizens who need to get business taken care of at the courthouse to plan ahead for the closure.
