Today is National Independent Bookstore Day, held each year on the last Saturday in April to celebrate the uniqueness of independent bookstores across the country. Pageturners Bookstore in Indianola is celebrating the event by partnering with other stores in the area to invite readers to visit all stores with their “bookstore passport, encouraging customers to visit different bookstores across the Des Moines area for special deals.
