Spring projects are underway for the Marion County Conservation Department.

The new cabins at Roberts Creek Park will be coming online in late spring or early summer as contractors finish up work and landscaping is being finished. The department has also completed a restroom project at Cordova Park and will be doing some prescribed burns in various wildlife areas to help manage them, along with putting up some food plots. Marion County Conservation Director Cale Edwards says there will also be some projects coming up at Marion County Park.

“We have some road projects that we will be working on there. One of them will be redoing the asphalt road in the back of the park by the little league and then we are also going to do some road work inside the campground there which we will be doing the next few years through different budget cycles getting those roads back up. We are also going to be putting in a new dock at Marion County Lake which will feature a kayak launch which will be really nice to have in there.”
