The Norwalk girls golfers won their second Little Hawkeye Conference Invite of the season on Monday, scoring a 349 at Newton’s Westwood Golf Course. Indianola placed second with a 359. The Warriors also won an LHC meet at Grimes on April 15.
Norwalk was paced by senior Lydia Krueger’s second-place round of 82. Ava Garvey placed fifth with an 87, Allie Soukup was seventh with an 89 and Evelyn Kinney added a 91. The Warriors also had a pair of junior varsity players break 90 in Lillian Garvey (87) and Hayden Clausen (88). The Warriors are back in action today at the Turk Bowman Invite at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames.
The Norwalk girls track meet at Winterset and the girls tennis meet vs. Urbandale were both cancelled on Monday due to the threat of severe weather.
Tuesday’s Schedule
The Norwalk tennis teams will take on Indianola today at 4:15. The girls’ dual is in Norwalk and the boys will play in Indianola. The Warrior boys track and field squad travels to Carlisle for the Wildcat Relays at 4:15.
