The Pella School Board approved additional contract completions related to the Jefferson-Middle School connector project at their meeting on Monday.

The board moved forward with two more contracts related to the now-completed addition. The Pella School Board also reviewed best practices and approved a resolution to prevent minors from accessing firearms. This includes resources to educate about responsible gun ownership and ensuring proper locks and other tools.

A review of the district’s procedures related to emergencies at activities with crowds was held including district administration.

Additional agenda items that were approved included a 2025-26 Forte Dance Team trip to Florida, price quotes for K-6 math instruction, sharing agreements with North Mahaska and Lynnville-Sully, and a leadership support structure for the Little Dutch Academy. That includes hiring a new assistant director and on-site supervisor.

The board also reviewed the last day of school, which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28th.
