The Warren County Board of Supervisors are holding an informational session to help educate the public on property taxes, assessments, and the budget this evening.
The meeting was introduced at the first public hearing regarding the county property tax levy for FY26, where dozens of attendees made public comments regarding the rise in assessment values in rural Warren County, with some property owners seeing a rise of up to 300% in assessed value over the last several years.
.
Board Chair Aaron DeKock said during the meeting the board doesn’t control the assessment values, and promised the crowd they would hold a meeting later this spring where they would go into more detail regarding the process and how property values affect the tax levy. DeKock also said the valuation of your property can only be taxed on 47% of the assessed value, and the county can only collect 3% more than what they collected for FY25.
The meeting is tonight at 6pm in the boardroom of the Warren County Administration Building.
