The Central College men’s and women’s track and field teams remained in the top 25 of the USTFCCCA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Team Rating Index released Tuesday after a big weekend at the Drake Relays and Kip Janvrin Open.
Points in the National Team Rating Index are based off of placement in the National Descending Order Lists. The higher an athlete sits on the top-50 list, the more points he or she adds to his or her team’s total. These points do not reflect placement or scoring at the NCAA Championships but are to show the individuals and teams that have the best chances of scoring well at said meet.
The Dutch women jumped up two slots to #17 with three improved marks. Individually, Peyton Steffen is #12 in the 5000m run (16:42.09), Addison Parrott is #19 in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:53.33), and the 4×400-meter relay team of Lizzy Van Utrecht, Alivia Roerdink, Emily McMartin, and Ava Parkins is #14 (3:48.91). Central’s men slipped to #18, despite two entries moving up into the top 20. Gunner Meyer is #9 in the 110-meter hurdles (14.21) and Grant Miller is #20 in the same event (14.37). The Dutch have 11 total entries in the top 50.
Central travels to Waverly Friday for a triangular meet with Wartburg College and Simpson College.
