The Knoxville Police Department is warning citizens of an ongoing toll violation text scam.

This scam has been prevalent all across the country in the last year which is a text message stating that you have an unpaid toll notice for a specific amount that you need to settle within a certain amount of time. The text will also list consequences of failure to pay the toll within a certain amount of time with a fraudulent link in which you can pay. The Knoxville Police Department always wants you to stay aware of these scams but to also educate kids and older citizens of them as well.
