A first time winner, a former NASCAR Driver and a 360 A-Main that took nearly an hour to complete highlighted the night at the Knoxville Raceway heard live on KNIA. Former NASCAR Xfinity Driver Brett Moffitt drove the Matt Allen car and nearly had himself a perfect night as he was quick time and won his first career sprint car feature and second overall feature at the Knoxville Raceway. He won a modified feature back in 2007. The 360 race took four tries to get going as each of the first three was red flagged due to a crash, all of which were in turn one. Once the racing started, Clint Garner took advantage of a better starting position due to the attrition and won his first race at Knoxville in nearly three seasons. The 410 A-Main was won by 18-year old Ryan Timms, who has been racing at Knoxville on and off for the last two seasons, finally found victory lane battling with Brian Brown and holding him and Austin McCarl off. Timms told KNIA/KRLS Sports this was a track he wanted to win at, but thought it would come later in his career.

Timms: “I’m just so stoked to win here in Knoxville. I was at the top of my bucket list to knock it out so soon in my career, I wasn’t expecting that. I’m so excited to be here and winning at Knoxville.”

More weekly racing is next Saturday at the Knoxville Raceway.
