
Two Newton boys golfers placed in the top fifteen at the five team Knoxville Invitational Saturday, while the team finished fifth. The Cardinals top four golfers completed the course at Pine Knolls Golf Club in 315 strokes. Pella Christian took first with a score of 289. Lincoln Peterson produced Newton’s lowest score at 74. Jackson Price was one stroke behind at 75, while Peyton Rozendaal and Mason Smith added scores of 82 and 84. With cardbacks, Peterson finished 11th, Price 14th, Rozendaal 22nd, and Smith 25th. Carter Forst and Ethan Pageler were the other Cardinal golfers who participated in the invitational. Forst was 27th with an 86, and Pageler was 28th with an 87.
The Newton boys golf team will be competing against seventeen other schools Monday in the Washington Boys Golf Invitational at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside.
