
The Pella girls soccer team found its second consecutive conference win, knocking off Indianola in a top 15 showdown at Pella High School Tuesday. The No. 12 Dutch defeated the No. 14 Indians 3-1. Claire Smock scored twice to lead Pella and Bri Shannon added another goal. Pella is up to 4-6-1 and is off for a week until traveling to Newton.
Pella’s boys soccer team couldn’t solve #6 in 3A Indianola on the road in a 4-2 loss. Head Coach Will Foskett says the Dutch overcame a difficult first half and scored twice in the second, with both by Tyson Barnes. The Dutch fall to 5-4-4 overall and next head to Gilbert for two matches this Saturday.
The Dutch boys golf team placed 4th in a quad meet in Cedar Rapids, hosted by Solon. Pella carded a team score of 338, led by meet runner-up medalist K.J. Besick (78), with Landon Reynolds (85), Griffin Simpson (87), and Anderson Dana (88) rounding out the Dutch score. Pella heads to Clear Lake on Friday.
