The Indianola City Council voted to amend a city ordinance that would eliminate the Indianola Wellness Campus Board of Trustees, and fold the previous responsibilities into the Indianola Parks and Rec Commissions. The Indianola Wellness Campus, formerly the Indianola YMCA, was transferred to the city in the summer of 2023, and has faced multiple revenue shortages over the last several years under city control due to maintenance costs including the pool.
The entire Indianola Wellness Campus Board of Trustees resigned in December of 2024 citing being left out of budget conversations and the process to make the facility more financially stable.
