
Soccer Splits In Centerville
Knoxville’s Soccer Squads played a double header at Centerville on Thursday and came away with a split. The boys behind Jensen Finnegan’s hat trick erupted against the Big Reds 8-0. Along with Finnegan’s barrage, Kaison Wilder had two goals, along with Brett Watters, Max Magana, and Joe Finnegan tallied one each. Wilder also assisted on three goals, Ezra Schmidt had two assists, and Magana assisted on two goals as well. Knoxville is now 9-1-3 on the season. The girls were again close but could not find victory as they fell to the Redettes 1-0. Knoxville is now 0-12 this season. The Panthers return home Monday for another double header against Clarke.
Boys Tennis Falls To Albia
Knoxville boys tennis resumed its meet with Albia on Thursday at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts and fell 9-0. Coach Kevin Wadle tells KNIA/KRLS Sports many of his guys are still learning the finer points of the game including making shots count…
Wadle: “So that’s the difficulty for Ezra, TaShawn and Jude is that they can get there, but squaring up the racket and that’s what we’re trying to learn.”
Knoxville is back in action on Wednesday hosting the class 1A singles and doubles District.
