Supporters of the Pregnancy Center of Central Iowa in Newton will be walking along Newton Streets tomorrow morning, raising money for the Center. The annual “Walk for Life” is one of the two big fundraisers the Pregnancy Center of Central Iowa holds each year. The other is their Fall Banquet in November.

The Pregnancy Center’s Director, Rita Baker, says parents-to-be and current parents throughout central Iowa have been turning to the facility for information and supplies for well over a decade.According to Baker, the center consistently has 40 to 50 active clients who are receiving assistance with an unplanned pregnancy, or getting one on one instruction on pregnancy, infant care, and parenting.

“We have had clients from Marshalltown to the north, Colfax, Prairie City, Kellogg, Monroe, and Knoxville.”

The walkers who participate in the “Walk for Life” solicit sponsors to raise money. The walk starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Pregnancy Center of Central Iowa, which is located at 709 First Avenue West in Newton.
