Pella Regional Health Center has announced that Certified Physician Assistant Amanda Phillips has joined their Medical Clinic staff as an advanced practice provider.

Phillips specializes in providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages. Her expertise in preventive health care helps patients stay healthy and avoid potential illnesses. Additionally, she excels in managing chronic diseases, performing physical exams, and reviewing patient histories. Her ability to interpret medical imaging, such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and electrocardiograms, further enhances their diagnostic capabilities, allowing for timely and effective interventions. In terms of procedural skills, Amanda is adept at wound care, including closure techniques such as suturing and using Dermabond. She has also provided essential women’s health services, including pap smears, IUD insertions, and prenatal and postpartum care.

Amanda earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at St. Ambrose University in Davenport. She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Nexplanon insertion.

Phillips will be seeing walk-in clinic patients at Pella Regional Medical Clinics in Pella, Knoxville, and Ottumwa.
