The application deadline for this year’s Jasper County Fair Queen contest is Tuesday. The 2025 Queen will be crowned on Saturday, June 14th at the Newton Community Theatre at the Newton YMCA. All contestants must attend a mandatory 6 p.m. queen candidates meeting at the Jasper County Iowa State Extension Office in Newton on Tuesday, May 13th, and at least one parent is also required to attend. The contestant application can be found on the Jasper County Fair website here. The 2025 Jasper County Fair will be the 170th annual, and will be held in Colfax Friday, July 18th through Thursday, July 24th. The theme for this year’s fair is “Candles, Critters and Cake, Let’s Celebrate 170 Years.”
