The Knoxville School Board will consider a recommendation from the Northstar Elementary task force at their meeting tonight.
The task force was assembled to meet and decide whether the district should renovate the current building or build a new school on land reserved in the Veterans District. The three options the task force considered were to fix highest priority areas of the current building, a complete renovation of the current building, or sell the current building and build brand new. All 18 members of the task force voted with 17 of them voting to build new.
The board will also consider the list of graduates, a contract for the instructional leadership academy, a certified budget amendment, the FY24 audit, and the second and third reading of board policies. There will also be presentations at the meeting for a West and Northstar spring progress report, and for the instructional coaches. The Knoxville School Board meeting tonight will start at 5:30 pm at the district office.
