Members of Newton High School’s Symphonic band, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Choir, and Concert Choir performed in the Iowa High School Music Association’s State Large Group Festival this past Saturday. The Cardinal band students were assigned to the Class 4A site at Ankeny Centennial High School, while the choirs sang at Ankeny High School. 

Newton’s Wind Ensemble and Chamber Choir each earned a Division 1 Superior rating, while the Symphonic Band and Concert Choir’s ratings were Division 2 Excellent.  

All of Newton’s High School’s choirs performed for the final time last night at the choir concert in Newton High School’s auditorium.
