The #3 Norwalk boys soccer team defeated #6 Indianola in a thriller in Little Hawkeye Conference action 4-3 Tuesday.
The Indians scored first on an Allan Martinez corner kick towards Aiden Keller who skied for a header goal, but the Warriors answered with a goal from Eli Scavo to tie the score at 1-1, then an Indianola own goal put the Warriors up 2-1 at halftime. The Warriors then got a goal from Tavin Ferner on a penalty kick to lead 3-1 and that score held until approximately 11 minutes to go. Allan Martinez then scored on an Indianola penalty kick to cut the deficit to 3-2, but Scavo scored with three minutes to go to get the lead back to 4-2.
An Indianola relentless attack finally found the back of the net on a Jojo Amisi screamer from 25 yards out to make it a one goal game, but Norwalk held the Indians off to win the rivalry matchup.
Norwalk is now 8-6-2 on the season and will travel to Roosevelt tomorrow, while Indianola falls to 9-6-1 and will travel to Ottumwa tomorrow.
