Boys Golf 2nd At Sectional, Advance To Waverly District
The boys golf squad made it out of the class 3A sectional at Pine Knolls Country Club as the Panthers finished runner-up to Pella by just two shots as the Dutch shot a 302 and Knoxville had a 304. Knoxville put four in the top ten led by Grant Gerdes in runner-up with a +3 74, Luke Roozeboom in 3rd place with a +4 75, Brady Roozeboom in 4th place with a +5 76 and Mikey Devos in 10th with a +9 80. Knoxville will head to the district Monday at the Waverly Municipal Golf Course.
Boys Tennis Unable To Advance Individuals To State
The Knoxville Boys Tennis Squad had a short lived day at the class 1A Individual Districts on Wednesday. The Panthers singles players lost both of the first round matches as Price McDanel lost to Wyatt Hitz 6-4, 6-4 and TaShawn Conner fell to Jonathan Van Gorp of Pella Christian 6-4, and 6-0. In doubles Ezra Schmidt and Jude Zuck fell to a team from Pella Christian 6-1 and 6-4. The lone win for the Panthers came from doubles team Jimmy McCormick and Ethan Russell as they defeated a duo from Chariton 6-2, 6-3 but fell in the quarterfinals to a team from Pella Christian 6-0 and 6-2.
