The PCM boys and girls track and field teams will compete in their home state qualifier meet today at PCM High School.

The Mustangs are coming off their last regular season meet of the season when they competed in Pella on Monday. PCM also competed last week in their conference meet hosted by West Marshall where both teams had a strong showing as the boys finished first and the girls finished second. The Mustangs have several entries that are poised to qualify for the state track and field meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines next week. Here are some of the events to watch in which PCM has potential qualifiers in the top three — the top two from each race automatically earn a trip to the finals, while eight at large events advance based on times or distances compared across the state (please note athletes can compete in a maximum of four events, and may not end up qualifying in the races below):
