A pair of Pella tennis players is moving on to the Class 1A state singles championship bracket. Seniors Nile Rozenboom and Jordan Shaffer placed 1st and 2nd respectively at the district meet held at Pella High School on Wednesday. The doubles duo of Trevin Sutton and Maddox Jones placed 3rd and are an alternate for the event. The state singles and doubles tournament will be held at Byrnes Park in Waterloo on May 27th.

It’s one step closer for the Pella boys golf team on the road to a return trip to the state meet following a win at the sectional hosted by Knoxville on Wednesday. The Dutch scored 302 in the event, defeating the hosting Panthers by two strokes. K.J. Besick was the meet medalist, shooting an even par 70 on the day. Gabe Clark and Patrick Bishara were at 77 and Cole Floden was 78 in the scores that counted for the Dutch. Pella moves on to the Class 3A district site at Waverly-Shell Rock on Monday.
