On a night when the Knoxville Raceway surface did some unusual things, many of the familiar drivers floated to the top of the running order. J Kinder dominated the Pro Sprints A-Main leading from start to finish, only slowed by caution flags to pick up his 2nd straight win. Many of the main points leaders including Matthew Stelzer and Mike Mayberry did not race. In the 410s, it was Brian Brown for the 2nd straight week and 68th time of his career but he had to hold off a hard charging Ryan Timms. Brown looked to be running for a comfortable win, but Timms made a last ditch effort, and had to settle for 2nd. The 360 A-Main, while dominated by Jamie Ball leading every lap, the defending 360 Track Champion was relieved to have things finally go his way. Ball has been suffering from a nerve issue that causes his arm to go numb, told KNIA/KRLS he wanted to ride the top, but realized the bottom was the fastest way around.

Ball: “Went into that 410 B-Main that wasn’t a bottom and would have to run the cushion, and I told my dad I’m tired of running the bottom and not seeing any progress, and what do I do, run the bottom for 18 laps. The Dunkins are the best at what they do, they keep you guessing.”

Ball was going to drive his 410 season, but his condition has forced him to only drive the 360. Next week is week five of the weekly championship series.
