The Pella boys tennis team made short work of their opening round matchup in the Class 1A substate tennis tournament on Saturday. The Dutch dispatched of Albia 5-0 at Caldwell Park. Pella advances to the Class 1A substate final against Fairfield, which will be back at Pella High School on Wednesday.
Pella’s girls soccer team split on the road Saturday at Nevada in tournament action, as the #12 in 2A Dutch fell to #1 in Class 1A Denver 3-0 before defeating Iowa Falls-Alden 1-0. Pella’s goal came from Maelee Solomon on a corner kick with just under 23 minutes remaining in the match against the Cadets. The Dutch girls move to 5-7-1 and host senior night Tuesday against #2 in 2A Dallas Center-Grimes.
