The Soccer Mini-Pitch that was built in Newton’s Maytag Park with donated funds has been completed since November. The official ribbon-cutting was held late last week. Newton High School boys assistant soccer coach Brett Lundberg and his family, along with other supporters, raised the money to get the mini-pitch facility built. Lundberg particularly likes one feature of it.
“My favorite part is that a kid can come and play by themselves if they need to. You can work on ball handling skills because it’s going to be a fast surface.”
Lundberg says he’s seen many kids at the mini-pitch since it was completed about six months ago. He talks more about the fundraising and the mini-pitch itself on today’s Let’s Talk Newton.
