The second Community Visioning Meeting in Baxter for the Iowa Living Roadways Community Visioning Program will be held at the Baxter Community Library at 6:00 p.m. Thursday. This session will focus on how landscape factors impact transportation in Baxter. The public is encouraged to attend.

Baxter was chosen for the 2025 Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program with help from the Baxter Chamber of Commerce. The program aims to help small towns improve transportation and community design through public input, landscaping, and trail planning.

Baxter’s previous Community Visioning Meeting dealt with the community’s transportation assets and barriers, where 63 residents participated. Twelve were members of the local program’s steering committee.
