Thunderstorms wiped out both of Norwalk’s scheduled sporting events on Monday.

The Warrior girls soccer team’s regular season finale at Johnston was cancelled. Following a 30-minute rain delay, the teams played for two minutes before lightning suspended the game, which will not be rescheduled. Norwalk is ranked seventh in Class 2A and will take an overall record of 10-3-3 into the postseason. The Warrior girls won’t play until Wednesday, May 28, when they host Centerville or Oskaloosa in a 2A regional semifinal.

The Norwalk baseball team was scheduled to open their 2025 season at Urbandale, but the varsity doubleheader was postponed due to rain. No make-up date has been announced. The Warriors will try again on Wednesday, hosting Boone at 7:00 p.m.

No Norwalk sporting events are scheduled for today.
