The PCM boys golf team punched their ticket to state at their Class 2A district meet held at Bos Landen Golf Course in Pella Monday.

After falling just short of state the last two years, the PCM boys found sweet success on Monday to advance to the biggest stage after frustrating finishes in 2024 and 2023. The Mustangs shot 343 as a team competing against eight other schools to finish second overall. The top individual score for PCM was Tate Tangeman who shot an 84 to finish ninth overall. Other individual scores below:

Charlie Ford – 85

Jeffery McDanel – 86

Parker DeHaai – 88

Easton VanVeen – 89

Pete Kiernan – 92

Qualifying for state this year for PCM also has an extra special meeting as this will be head coach Collin Harrison’s last year at the helm. Senior Tate Tangeman says making state feels good after falling short in years past.

“It means a lot, especially after the last couple of years. We should’ve gone. This year we didn’t even perform that well and we still made it so it feels pretty good.”

The state golf meet will be held next Tuesday and Wednesday in Waterloo.
