A local Pella Girl Scouts Troop was the top selling in the entire state.

Co-Leader Carrie Atkinson says the group of local girls from Troop 1509 sold just over 27,000 boxes of cookies, with 23 of the troop’s 25 members receiving Hall of Fame status. The top selling individual in Iowa was also from Pella, as Emilie Van Hugten sold 5,500 total boxes from the same troop. Atkinson is joined by co-leaders Tiffany Rus and Rose Bogaard. Atkinson says the group has a wide range of trips planned this summer, including: Mt. Rushmore/Badlands, Omaha Zoo Safari Overnighter, Camp Tanglefoot Clear Lake, Beekeeping with Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Winners, Trampoline and Waterparks, camping, mud run, Adventureland, Smash Park, and the Iowa State Fair.
