The Indianola girls golf team dominated the back nine at their regional qualifier meet at Marshalltown to qualify to the class 4A State Golf Meet, shooting a team score of 343 on Wednesday.

The Indians placed second at the meet, with four golfers placing in the top 11 led by Camryn Overton placing third with an 80, and Amelia Moorlach and Alexa Inman shooting 87 each, and Reese Lucas shooting an 89. The Indians will compete at the state meet next Thursday and Friday at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.

The baseball team swept #7 Ottumwa to start their season on the road.

George Blake threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball as the Indians defeated the #7 Bulldogs in the opening game of the doubleheader. The Indians earned an RBI hit from Bo Blake, and another from Max Wedmore, with Asher Brueck coming on to get the last out for the save.

Game two saw a solid start from Bryant Ritchie and another relief appearance from Asher Brueck, while Andrew DeWall went 3-3 at the plate with a triple. Bo Blake went 2-2, and Dallas Harlan 2-4.

Indianola is now 2-0 and will next play a doubleheader today at Johnston.
