
The boys of summer are up and running after Monday’s rainout, and the #2 in 3A Dutch baseball team began their push to Sioux City with a road win Wednesday. Pella defeated No. 7 Clear Creek-Amana 10-2 on the road. Head Coach Jesse Jablonski says the Dutch scored seven two-out runs in the effort. Nathan Carey struck out 12 batters in 5 1/3 innings, and also went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs batted in. Samuel Carlson was 2-for-3 from the plate with a double and three runs scored and Anderson Schirm was also 2-for-3 with a 2B and two runs batted in. Pella is 1-0 and hosts Centerville for a doubleheader tonight.
