An online survey aimed at gathering public input on the qualities and experience the next President of Des Moines Area Community College should have will close Tuesday. DMACC is looking for its fifth president to oversee the college’s six campuses, including Newton, and six learning centers. In-person forums have also been used this month to gather public opinion on the search for the next College President. The first in-person forum was held at the Newton Campus May 6th.
Rob Denson has been DMACC’s President the past 22 years, but will be retiring when this calendar year ends. His successor will take over the Presidency January 1st, 2026. A search committee chaired by DMACC Board of Directors Vice Chair Kevin Halterman is to recommend three to five finalists for on-campus interviews in late October.
